Sharron Angle recently suggested that autism as a disorder doesn't really exist, "You know what I'm talking about. You're paying for things that you don't even need. They just passed the latest one, is everything that they want to throw at us now is covered under 'autism'." Her dismissal of the need for autism care provides insight into the Tea Party's view of healthcare. Essentially, Angle and the Tea Party believe they can identify what is legitimate and what deserves consideration as a healthcare issue; as in "I want you to support coverage for my heart attacks and head aches, but I don't believe in your child's autism, and I don't want it covered".
